This is a Brazilian VZ24 bolt-action rifle in 7×57 Mauser. Serial number- VZ2401837. The "PM" prefix on the serial number and the flat face on the underside of the bolt handle leads us to believe that this is a Brazilian contract rifle, and was potentially used in the Sao Paulo Rebellion. The VZ.24 rifle is a bolt-action carbine designed and produced in Czechoslovakia from 1924 to 1942. It was developed from the famous Mauser Gewehr 98 line, and features a very similar bolt design.
