Sold For $1625

Manufacturer: Colt
Caliber: .45 ACP
Barrel: 5
Bore Condition: Excellent
This is a no reserve penny auction for a Colt 1911A1 semi-automatic pistol in .45 ACP. Serial number- 609600. This 1911 is in great condition with very minimal wear to both the frame and slide. Comes with a belt, a leather US Army holster, a magazine carrier, an L (Little) stamped WWII magazine, and (2) 7-round Colt magazines! The serial number dates this 1911 to a manufacture date of 1919. This 1911 was produced during the end of WW1 when we saw the end of personalized monograms near the trigger. Instead of initials, they were stamped with an eagles head and a number with an S prefix which is present on this pistol which reads "S15". The AA means it was repaired or reinspected by Augusta Arsenal, we believe it could have been repaired or rearsenaled for WWII because it has a WWII-era parkerized finish rather than the WWI-era blued finish. This means that this 1911 was inspected at the Colt plant by a Springfield Armory inspector! The slide is unserialized with a "H" mark instead above the firing pin retention plate.
