This is a no reserve penny auction for a Colt Government Commercial Model 1911 semi-automatic pistol chambered in .45 ACP. Serial number- C96953. This 1911 is in excellent condition and comes with a magazine. This pistol was manufactured in 1917 before the United States entered WWI. The 1911 proved so popular that Colt started selling them on the civilian commercial market. It has 99.9% of its original bluing, an excellent bore, and the C prefix which states its a commercial model. The patent date has the correct 1913 date and the lanyard ring. Commercial Colt 1911s are rare and very desirable to collectors. This is a scarce opportunity to get your hands on one!
