This is a no reserve penny auction for a Colt Model 1911 semi-automatic pistol in .45 ACP. Serial number- 58439. This pistol comes with a period-correct two-tone magazine. The bore is in good condition with some minor stubborn carbon fouling. After running a serial number lookup, we've determined that this 1911 was manufactured in 1913 and features the very desirable WGP inspection stamp. The stamp is the inspection mark of Ordnance Officer Major Walter G. Penfield, only the 1st 100,000 Colt 1911s made before WWI are believed to hold his mark. Many of these have been lost to time and war through the last 110 years!
